The Backpack and the Bus

I carry all my law books in my backpack. And with those books ranging anywhere from 1,300-3,000 plus pages, that’s no small feat. To help distribute the weight better, my Mom even bought me a hiking backpack for Christmas last year. As long as I bend with my knees when putting it on, I generally don’t have a problem…except yesterday on the bus.

I caught a late bus home and my sleep-deprived brain took a few moments to realize we were at my stop. It was just me on the bus. In surprise I jumped up…and promptly toppled backwards from the weight of my backpack onto the floor!

I have attempted to find a suitable gif to demonstrate my dramatic toppling but, alas, could not find one. You’ll just have to take my word on the epicness of the moment. Only the bus driver saw it and he laughed so hard I thought he was going to fall over!

Basically imagine this but a lot faster on a bus:
