I am soooooooooooo close to getting my to-read list under 900 (currently at 904!) that I have forbidden myself from adding books to it.
However, this is me, and if I’m not collecting physical books I sure am collecting recommendations for books. I tell myself it doesn’t count if they don’t go on my to-read list. I’ve currently got a stack of sticky notes and 3×5 cards floating around my apartment with books I want to read but refuse to mark.
This is, of course, not efficient. What is the plan once I’m under 900? To add them all at once and go up over 900 again? To add them slowly as I finish books and risk losing them? Does this hard commitment to 900 mean I will perpetually remain under 900, or will I be flexible and perpetually striving to keep it under? Am I striving for 900 or 899?
These are the things that keep me up at night.
